What counts as proof of address?

What we accept

Documents must be dated within the last 90 days, show your name matching the account, and show your full physical address (street, city, postal code, country).

Accepted

• Utility bills — electricity, gas, water, council tax. NOT internet/mobile phone (too easy to forge).
• Bank statements (printed PDF from online banking, with bank logo)
• Credit card statements (with name + address)
• Government correspondence — tax notices, voter registration confirmation, social security letters
• Tenancy agreements (recent, signed)
• Insurance policy declarations (auto, home, life)

Not accepted

• Handwritten letters
• Screenshots without surrounding context (we need the full document, not a clipped detail)
• Receipts (groceries, restaurants — don't reliably prove residency)
• Internet bills, mobile phone bills (too easily address-of-convenience)
• Documents older than 90 days
• Documents in someone else's name

Address mismatch with your account

If the address on your proof-of-address differs from the address on your account:

1. Update your account address first (Profile → Account → Address) before uploading
2. Or upload both old and new with a note explaining (e.g. "moved last month, lease attached")

Our compliance team will handle reasonable explanations.

Living with parents / partner

If your name doesn't appear on any utility bill (e.g. you live with parents and the bills are in their name):

• Upload a bank statement in your name to that address
• Or a tax-related document
• Or a voter-registration confirmation

Living abroad temporarily

Use the address where you receive mail, not your "home country" address. KYC checks where you actually are, not where your passport is from.

Hotels, P.O. boxes, virtual offices

Not accepted. Must be a real physical residential address.

Multilingual documents

Documents in English, Türkçe, Russian, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic and Italian are processed natively. Others — provide a self-translated PDF alongside the original.

Quality requirements

• All edges visible
• In focus
• Color (not black/white)
• Photo or scan both fine
• File size under 10 MB
• Format: JPG, PNG, PDF

Processing

Proof of address is reviewed within 4 hours for clear documents, up to 48 hours during peak. Submitted out-of-hours? Counted from next business day open.
